Reflection
 
General and Operations Managers is a very challenging, but rewarding job. Being a general and operations manager holds a lot of responsibility and requires good organization, planning, problem solving, and social skills. I learned from researching my occupation that I would enjoy this occupation and all of its responsibilities.
Being a general and operations manager requires you to oversee important parts of an organization’s activities and to ensure projects get completed which are just some of the reasons why I choose this occupation to research. It also includes managing time of self and others, setting goals, deadlines, and prices, and managing daily operations. I enjoy organizing and making sure things go as planned so I feel this job would be fitting to the things I enjoy.
One benefit that I would like about this job is the salary. The median annual salary in the United States is $95,150 and in Idaho it is $67,820. Besides just salary, some benefits that general and operations managers get are paid medical and insurance plans. A few more things I would enjoy about being a general and operations manager is that in this occupation, I would need to organize and plan things and also you have to oversee projects and people to make sure everything is running smoothly.
The possible office environment would be one downside to me in this occupation. I would much rather work out on the field and monitor the tasks that are happening in that moment than work in an office. Another thing I would dislike about this occupation is the amount of paperwork that I might have to complete. Although this job is appealing to me because of the planning and organizing aspect of it, this occupation can be very boring or not very eventful at times.
From researching my occupation, I discovered that I would enjoy this occupation as a general and operations manager. I think I would enjoy this job because I really enjoy organizing and planning events or tasks and I also believe that I have the ability to quickly solve any problems or evaluate data. This job requires a quick, problem-solving, analytical mind, which I believe that I have.
